A few weeks ago Wendy, owner of Repeat Impressions started a new weekly post and it’s called Project of the Week. Each one of the Rock Star Designers come up with a project and show/tell how the project is done.

I wanted to do some fancy gift tags for my Christmas presents this year because I plan to wrap my packages in plain kraft paper. What I like about this is that I started this project before most of the presents have even been bought — so when it’s time to wrap – I’ll have this part of my Christmas done. I made 20 tags and it didn’t take too much time.

20130929-161331.jpg

1. I die cut 20 kraft tags (tags can be purchased). The tags I die cut are about 7 inches tall. Then I cut about 25 tags from various designer paper.

2. Cut only the 25 designer paper tags into 2 inch strips.

3. Stamp and color Repeat ImpressionsPoinsettias” and “Do Not Open…

4. Use a Copic Spica Glitter Pen to highlight leaves and poinsettias.

3. Mix and Match the cut strips to glue onto the kraft tags.

4. Add a few embellishments including tie ribbons and twine.

The main thing that made this easy was getting all the elements together and then doing the tags assembly style.

Hope this inspires you to get a head start on special tags or gets you to thinking about your Christmas card list – Check out Wendy’s selection of fantastic Christmas Stamps here at Repeat Impressions.

Thanks for looking at my project – have a HAPPY stamping day!

Aaahh… My favorite season is finally here! I love autumn in Maine… the cooler days and chilly nights, apple picking, baking and comfort foods, and of course the beautiful show of fall foliage.

Today we’re celebrating fall and all it’s goodness with a great new Designer’s Choice Challenge. Repeat Rock Star, Brenda Turner is challenging you to create a card with a fall theme.

Here’s the great scarecrow card Brenda created to get us all started.

So a few days ago Brenda shared this card with her fellow Rock Stars and asked them to create their own cards with a fall theme. Check out all the fabulous creations they came up with to inspire you this week.

Hi there!

Geri here, I’m really excited to share my first Project of the Week with you for The House That Stamps Built .

I almost always use dies for my cards and one of the ways to enhance the look is to sand the edges. Using just about any printed DP or solid card stock with a core color, such as white (Tim Holtz has some solid color CS with a Kraft core) that works really great also. Pretty much the same way with embossing folders.

After you decide on your DP, cut and emboss using a die or dies. I used Spellbinders label #4 sm then remove from the die, laying it flat, sand around the edges, I use a manicure filing block as I find it is easier to keep even sanding. The back panel I only embossed using blue painters tape to hold it in place and Spellbinders A2Matting Basics B. Remove the tape and die, then sand as the front panel. For my card I put the die on the back side of the side I wanted to sand.
Here is a photo of the dies and sanding block.

I stamped the images out in Memento black ink and cut them out.

It’s time for my Wednesday happy dance. Yahoo… we’re halfway to the weekend! I’ve been traveling too much lately and can’t wait to sneak in a little down time. So if this wonderful fall weather continues then I think a trip to the orchard for some apple picking might be in order.

But Wednesdays are always fun for us here at The House That Stamps Built because it’s challenge day. This week I have a simple Sketch Challenge for you. It’s another easy one, so no excuses… play along, please?! :)

Here’s my sketch.
