Today we’re also announcing the winner of our August DCCs. So now without further ado… our friends at random.org have selected… Theresa P as our August winner. Congratulations, Theresa! You just won an unmounted sheet of rubber stamps… any sheet of your choice! Please leave a comment here and I will contact you on how to make your selection.

Don’t forget that we also have a great Sketch Challenge happening now too. There are still a few days left to get in on this one and an opportunity to win a $25 Repeat Impressions gift certificate! Please follow this link to my WHAT IF? Wednesday ~ Sketch Challenge A2014 post to see my sketch layout and all the wonderful cards the Rock Stars created to get you started.

And last, but certainly not least… Today we bid farewell to Rock Star, Brenda Turner. It was so wonderful having Brenda on the team. She has been a real pleasure to work with and such an inspiration to everyone. We will miss you, Brenda, and all your beautiful RI card creations! Thank you for your time with us and all the best to you in your future creative endeavors. Thankfully the Internet makes the world a smaller place so I’m sure we’ll all be stopping by your blog now and then to see what you’ve been up to. :)

And thank you friends for visiting with us today. We hope you’ve found lots to inspire you and look forward to seeing your “Birthday” card linked here soon. And be sure to drop by again on Monday when Rock Star, Joy Hadden will be hosting and sharing her Project of the Week with us.

Until then… happy stamping!

Hi there! Geri here with another POTW at Repeat Impressions. I used the out of the box technique stamped on both sides of the front panel of the card. This works great if you have a image that is the same on both sides. Like this gorgeous butterfly by Repeat Impressions.

20140824-193408.jpg

Here is the inside view.

20140824-193508.jpg

Here is how I created it.
I started out with a piece of white A-2 side folded CS. Using a Stamp-a-ma-jig to place my image where I wanted.

20140824-193656.jpg

Next I used a ruler to mark where I wanted to cut out a portion of the image.

20140824-193745.jpg

I cut up and down to the butterfly and around the butterfly.

20140824-193832.jpg

A closer view.

20140824-193933.jpg

Next on the inside I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig again to line up the image perfectly on the already cut out side. Then stamped it.

20140824-194059.jpg

I then rounded the front corners and randomly stamped the vine image and using the SIMJ to place them where I wanted them. Last I colored the butterfly and the vine. Then added the sentiment.
I colored them with Copic’s but keep in mind to use heavy CS or it will blend through.

Stamps by Repeat Impressions: “Butterfly (lg)” #9001, “Flowering Vine” #4314 and the sentiment is “Beautiful Days” #9206.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Gumball Machine Shaker Box by Deonna Bemish.

Supplies
1 piece of white cardstock cut to 2 1/2” x 4”
1 piece of white cardstock cut to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”
Acetate – cut to 2 ½”x 2 ½”
Rubber Stamps – I used Repeat Impressions stamps #9702-O Gumball Machine and a portion of #9703-F Have A Ball
Memento Ink or Dye ink
Dimensional foam tape or pop dots
2” circle punch or Spellbinders die
Paper Trimmer
Shaker items – Confetti, beads, nail art, glitter etc….
Glue Runner

20140817-212037.jpg

1. Using your 4 ΒΌ β€œ x 5 ½” piece of cardstock stamp your image in the center using your Memento ink.

20140817-212126.jpg

2. Color the Image as desired. I used Copic Markers R22,R24,R27, C0, C1,C3

20140817-212208.jpg

3. After coloring your image, cut your paper down to 2 ½” x 4” just leaving your stamped image.
4. Using your Spellbinders 2” die or a 2” circle punch line up and cut out the circle part of the Gumball machine.

20140817-212252.jpg

20140817-212332.jpg

5. Take your tape runner on the backside of your stamped image, where you just die cut out the circle, apply adhesive around the outer edge. Taking your 2 ½” x 2 Β½ β€œ Acetate apply to the adhesive.

20140817-212414.jpg

20140817-212459.jpg

6. Cutting your dimensional in small pieces apply on top of the acetate all around the circle. Do NOT leave any open spaces between the tape.- I did this Two times to get it thick enough. If you are cutting pop dots in half they are probably thick enough with just one layer.

20140817-212540.jpg

20140817-212623.jpg

20140817-212716.jpg

7. Apply your sequins, confetti or whatever you are using to the inside of the circle on the Acetate. Remove the paper backing from your dimensional tape and apply your 2 ½” x 4” piece of cardstock on top to the other.

20140817-212757.jpg

20140817-212840.jpg

8. Your Shaker is then complete. You may now use it on your card.
