Happy Wednesday crafty peeps! I hope you are all having a great week so far. I’ve been mostly “unplugged” for the past week and taking advantage of the fabulous weather we’ve been having here in Maine lately. What a welcome change it is after such a long, cold winter and a slow start to our Spring!

Over the past few days I have finally done something I’d been wanting to do for years… I planted a small vegetable garden. Now I’m just hoping that the wild critters that visit our backyard will see fit to leave some for us. I’m already dreaming of the day when I can pick my own salad for dinner and spiralize lots of zoodles too. Fingers crossed!

Well, back to business… it’s challenge day here again and I’ve got a new sketch to share with you. Check it out and all the fantastic inspiration cards created by the RI Rock Stars… then play along for your chance to win a Repeat Impressions‘ gift certificate!

Good Morning! Today it’s my turn for Project of the Week for The House That Stamps Built. I’d like to share with you some tips and helps about foiling with Repeat Impressions Stamps. First of all this is a FUN technique that can be used in many different ways and there are many different techniques to use foil and today I’ll share one way. First up is a list of supplies you will need to get started.

20150524-203212.jpg

Versamark
fine detail embossing powder
anti static pad or tool
foil – any brand name
Repeat Impression Stamps
heat laminator

After stamping image with Versamark, coating with a fine detail embossing power and using a heat tool, your image should look like this.

20150524-203324.jpg

Cut a piece of foil that will cover your image and place inside a sheet of paper folded in half and run this thru a heat laminator. This one has 2 settings, I used the lower setting.

I found that line images work better than solid images. Color of embossing powder doesn’t matter but it is best to use a super fine embossing powder. Pictures of the cards I made were taken at different angles so that the camera could pick up the shine.

The tag was spritzed with Glimmer Mist after attaching to a glittered tag.

Stamp Images:
5702-M, Crowned Cane Deco
1704-P, Great Blue Heron
4212-I, Fawn (done in gold foil)
5016-N, Genealogy from Text Backgrounds (done in gold foil)

This was a fun project — watching how the images transform can become addicting – so your desk may end up looking like this!

Hope you will give this a try with some of your Repeat Impressions Stamps.

Repeat Impressions

May 182015

Hi Everyone!

It is my (Deonna’s) turn to present you with a Project of the Week at The House that Stamps Built for Repeat Impressions Stamps and I’ve chosen to show you how to make a Napkin Decoupage ATC.

Supplies:

Decorative Napkin – I chose a Camoflauge

Old Hymnal Page,

Dictionary page,

Modge Podge,

Brush,

Chipboard piece cut to 2 1/2 x 3 1/2″,

Distress ink in Vintage Photo,

Staz-on ink in Forest Green and Brown (not in Picture).

Repeat Impressions Rubber Stamps:

4221-K, Deer Family Silhouette,

1507-J, Grass Border,

1138-E, Father’s Day

20150516-154440.jpg

1. Seperate your napkin from it’s backing. Some napkins are two ply and some are 3. Gently remove all backing layers.

20150516-154540.jpg

2. Apply Modge Podge using a Paint brush or sponge brush to your hymnal page covering completely. Using your napkin after all layers removed, apply to the modge Podged hymnal page base. Set aside to allow to dry or use heat tool to speed the process.

20150516-154854.jpg

3. Take your dictionary page, your Deer Rubber stamp mounted on acrylic block, and your Brown Staz-On ink and stamp the deer onto the dictionary Page. After this, take your Happy Fathers Day Stamp and your green Staz-On ink and stamp it onto the dictionary page. Using your fingers gently tear your paper around your images.

4. After your images are torn out, using your Vintage photo Distress ink and Sponge Dauber apply ink to all of the torn edges from Step 3 and Set Aside.

20150516-155336.jpg

20150516-155417.jpg

5. Take your Chipboard ATC Base and apply a generous amount of Modge Podge to the front and apply your Decorative napkin/Hymnal page onto the top of the chipboard and tear around the edges, then fold the edges over and Modge Podge to the backside of the ATC base.

6. Once again, grab your Deer stamped image and your Sentiment that you tore out in Step 3 and Modge Podge to your napkin covered ATC Chipboard Base.

20150516-160115.jpg

20150516-160153.jpg

20150516-160233.jpg

7. Using your Grass Border Stamp only ink the top portion of the stamp with your Green Staz-on ink and stamp to the bottom edge of the ATC.

Your Project is now Complete. Set aside and allow to dry.
