Today we are also bidding a fond farewell to RI Rock Star, Karen Hasheck. Karen has been on our design team for 5 years. My how time flies when we’re having fun! It has been my great pleasure to get to know Karen and watch her creativity and talent grow over the years. Not to mention all the help she has given me behind the scenes with helping to keep the team organized and on schedule. Gosh are we going to miss her! But Karen has promised to not be a stranger and plans on joining us for a challenge or special post now and then. And I will be holding her to it! 😉 All the best to you, Karen and thank you for everything!

Thanks so much for dropping by today. We hope you’ve found lots to inspire you and look forward to seeing your challenge creation linked here soon. And please be sure to drop by again on Monday when Rock Star, Joy Hadden will be hosting and sharing her Project of the Week with us.

Until the next time… happy stamping!

Happy Spring, crafty friends! I hope your week is going well. I am enjoying being at home for a bit and finally getting a chance to rest and catch up on things. And I’m especially grateful to have this break from show travels now since one of my fur kids was recently diagnosed with cancer and had to have surgery. He also had his first chemo treatment two weeks ago and is doing well so far. The type of cancer Simon has is quite rare in cats so I have started a blog of his HSA journey in hopes that it might be of help to someone else someday. You can find his link in the sidebar if you are interested.

It’s challenge day here again at The House and I’ve got a new sketch to share with you. So if you are planning to get inky this week, then we’ve got just the thing to help get you started. Check out my sketch and all the wonderful inspiration cards created by the RI Rock Stars… then play along for your chance to win a Repeat Impressions’ gift certificate!

Hi everyone!  Cheri here with a super easy resist technique that you can use for almost any card you want to make.

The supplies you’ll need are supplies I’m sure you already have.

POTW-1

Supplies:  sponge daubers, (or some other sponge small enough to color your image), dye inks, embossing ink, (I used VersaMark), white embossing powder and an embossing buddy or something else that you use to keep embossing powder from sticking to areas you don’t want it to.

Step one:  Use your embossing buddy or whatever you use to keep embossing powders from sticking where you don’t want it to.

Step two:  Ink up the stamp of your choice with VersaMark or whatever you use for embossing ink.  Stamp the image then cover it with white embossing powder and heat set.

Step three:  Using your sponge, pick up your first color and lightly apply it to your image.

POTW-2

Continue applying color as you desire to the image.  You can blend colors if you like, but always use a light hand when applying the ink.

POTW-3

Step four:  Take a clean paper towel or soft cloth and wipe the ink from the raised embossed image.  This makes the image pop and recesses the ink.

Step five:  Assemble your card as you’d like.

POTW-4

Repeat Impression Stamps used for this card are #1505-N “Rose Border” and #3906-H “Easter Blessings”.

See!  I told you easy as can be!  I hope you’ll give this technique a try and if you do, I think you’ll enjoy the results.
