Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope your summer is wrapping up on a happy note. It’s hard for me to believe that tomorrow is September already! My summer flew by entirely too quickly while I was busy on the road doing stamp shows. Geez… I haven’t even had time to have any lobster or s’mores yet. Isn’t there a law against that if you live in Maine?! 😉

Since we have a bonus 5th Wednesday in this month it’s time for another Anything Goes Challenge! So for this week’s challenge the sky is the limit. Feel free to submit any style of card or stamped creation that you wish.

Here are the wonderful creations the RI Rock Stars came up with to inspire you and get us started.

Hi everyone, Cheri here with another Project of the Week for The House That Stamps Built.

This week I thought I’d show you a card design that’s an old favorite of mine. It’s super easy and makes great cards for special occasions.

Here are the supplies you’ll need to make this type of card.

1 sheet of 8.5 x 11 inch card stock for the base.
Designer paper of your choice cut 4×5.25.
Glue and/or Scor-Tape
1 piece of card stock measuring 4×5 for inside mat
Stamps, embellishments of your choice

You first will cut your 8.5 x 11 inch card stock in half measuring over 5.50 inches on the 11 inch side. You’ll then have two pieces of CS each measuring 4.25 x 5.50. (the size of an A2 card). Score these pieces on the 8.5 inch side in half again at 4.25 inches.

Next you’ll place one of these cut pieces in your paper cutter making sure the scored fold point and the bottom corner of the cs are on an even diagonal. This takes a little adjusting, however, it’s important that each point is perfectly placed. When you’re ready, cut the angle off. Repeat on the second portion of cs, on the opposite side.

You should have two separate mirror images, as shown.

Put score tape or glue of your choice on the back of one of the mirror images and then place it over the top of the other unglued piece up to, but not over the score line. The two pieces should be flush on all edges.

potw829cw-4

Use a bone folder to press the folds down then grab your designer paper and place it in your paper cutter on the angle of corner to corner. If you’re using double sided paper for this, you only have to cut one piece of paper. If you are using single sided paper you’ll need to cut two pieces each in opposite direction.

Adhere these pieces to each side of the base card where they fold.

Next run a strip of glue or Score Tape along the bottom of the center of the base card and fold one of the side panels over it. (you decide which side will be in the background and which one will be in the foreground).

Next run some glue or tape along the bottom edge of the side panel you just adhered and seal that side. Your card is now done and ready to decorate.

RI Stamps used for this card are #9501-O “Wine Time”, #9504-G “Wine Label” and #9515-G “Friends and Wine”. All from the Wine Time set.

This card uses RI Stamps #4321-J “Swan Love”, #3904-H “To Love and Be Loved” and #1144-D “Happy Anniversary”.

Happy creating!!!

Hello everyone, and welcome to another Project of the Week post for Repeat Impressions at the RI blog, The House That Stamps Built!

The holidays are quickly approaching, and I thought it would be fun to share a cute little gift box that is a favorite ‘go to’ for me. When I need something in a hurry, I reach for this. I wish I knew where I’d first seen this – more than likely it was one of those uber-talented Stampin’Up! gals, but I drew it in my little sketch book a few years back, and don’t know who gets the credit for it… sorry!!!

I used these Repeat Impression stamps:
2322-G Black Cat
2319-I Haunted Tree
2308-E Bats
2316-G Boo!
2317-D Tombstone

Let’s get started!

Cut one piece of cardstock to 11″ x 3.25″
On long side, score at 4.75″ and 6.25″

potw82216-pg1

Cut another piece of cardstock to 5″ x 3 3/8″.
Score 1″ on all four sides.

potw82216-pg2

Burnish all score lines.
On your 5″ x 3 3/8″ piece, snip in to the fold line, creating your box tabs.
(I always trim mine a bit on either side of the tab, as shown, to make a nice fit.)

potw82216-pg3

Add some good adhesive to your box flaps, and create your box.

potw82216-pg4

Here is what it will look like.

potw82216-pg5

Add some adhesive to your box bottom.

potw82216-pg6

Remove strips and adhere box to bottom of outer cover, as shown below.

potw82216-pg7

That’s it! You’re done, except for decorating! You can add designer paper, or just stamp a cute little scene like I did here.

potw82216-pg8

Here is this same box created for Christmas a year or two ago.

potw82216-pg9

potw82216-pg10

I used these Repeat Impressions stamps for the Christmas box:

406-H Peace Love Joy
2008-K Shepherd Boy

Thanks for stopping by today! If you decide to give this box a try, come back and let us know! We’d love to see what you create!

Hugs and smiles,
Patti J.
