Hi friends and Happy Halloween! Deonna here, I just love fall and all of the beautiful leaves and my favorite holiday, “Halloween”. I thought that I’d show you how to make an embellishment today – Fall Fun Stamped Rosettes. I was thinking about using these on some table embellishments for Thanksgiving. You can glue paper straws to them and put them in a vase for decoration. I like to add paperclips to the back and use them for cards, scrapbook pages, papercraft projects. Use your imagination. Lets get started.

Supplies that I used include:
Stamps – Repeat Impressions leaves… 3312-E, Maple Leaf, 3314-D, Birch Leaf, and 3313-E, Oak Leaf
Coloring media (I used Copic Markers)
Ink pad (I used Stampin’up Chocolate Chip)
White Cardstock to stamp on
Paper trimmer
Decorative paper cut to 12″ x 1 1/4″
Border punch
Score Board
1 1/4″ Circle punch
Small piece of any color cardstock to punch circles
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Eyelash trim and Raffia

r1

1. Stamp the leaf images using your ink pad, color as desired and fussy cut each of them out.

2. Cut your decorative paper using your paper trimmer to 12″ x 1 1/4″.

r6

3. Using your border punch (starting in the center of your paper) punch along each side of your strip of paper.

r7

r8

4. Place the 12″ flat side of your strip of paper on your score board at the top and score 1/2″ line across the whole strip.

r9

5. Fold the score lines in a back and forth motion completely down the strip.

r10

r11

r12

6. Hot glue both of the ends of your scored strip of paper together.

r13

r14

7. Using your circle punch and black cardstock, punch a circle.

r15

r16

8. Create your Rosette by pushing down the flat edge of your paper to the center. This is a little tricky. Adhere the circle that you punched to the back side of your Rosette using hot glue.

9. Your Rosette is now ready to be decorated. I added some orange eyelash trim and folded some raffia in red and green. I hot glued each of them down where desired.

10. Place your stamped leaves to the top of your Rosette by using the hot glue. You’ve now completed your decorative Rosette.

Hello everyone!

Cheri here with a Project of the Week for you.

I don’t know about you, but I love making Christmas cards. The problem is, it can take a long time to make Christmas cards for those special people on your list. Finding an easy technique that looks like it took hours is priceless.

Here’s a resist technique called “soft shadows”.

The supplies you’ll need and you probably already have them in your stash.

potw1024-cw1

Neutral card stock
Embossing ink (I used Versamark)
Anti-static tool
White embossing powder
Soft colored dye ink
Stencil brush (it works better than sponging for this technique)
solid stamps of your choice I used RI Stamps # 2719-K “lg Pine Tree” and #2710-D “sm Pine Tree”.
Soft cloth/paper towel
and a heat gun (not shown).

Note: You may have seen resist sponging techniques that resembles this technique using a sponge. However the small stencil brush allows you to add color in smaller amounts and you have more control.

Step 1 – Prepare your card stock with the anti-static tool.

Step 2 – Stamp your image using the embossing ink, sprinkle with white embossing powder and heat set.

Step 3 – Load the stencil brush with the soft colored dye ink you’ve chosen and using a small circular motion begin applying the ink to your embossed image. You don’t want to press too hard, it’s easier to apply more ink where you need it later. Continue applying the color until you are satisfied with the amount of ink.

Step 4 – Using your soft cloth or paper towel to wipe the white areas of your image, removing the excess ink.

Step 5 – Prepare your card as you like. My sentiment for this card is RI’s #3907-G “Rejoice”.

I hope you liked this technique for making easy cards that pack some “pop”.

Thanks for stopping by.

Good morning, crafty friends! I hope you are all having a good week so far. I’m on the road again for back to back shows. This weekend you will find me in Hampton, VA for the StampScrapArtTour show at the Hampton Roads Convention Center. So if you are anywhere in the area I hope you will stop by for a visit and have some stamping fun with us.

But today it’s time to introduce another WHAT IF? Wednesday challenge here at “The House”. This week we have a fun Photo Inspiration Challenge for you. How purr-fect is this image to get you in the Halloween mood?

o1916

So “what if” we showed you this photo… What does it inspire you to create? What do you see?… Is your focus on the subject matter? The colors? The shapes? A feeling the photo brings out in you? A little of each maybe?

Check out all these wonderful interpretations created by our design team Rock Stars.
