Hi everyone! It’s my turn to create a Project of the Week and this time I decided to go with felted cardstock.

I found these really cool coffee cocktail napkins at my dollar store and snapped them up with this technique in mind. So, first off lets grab our supplies.

You’ll need a cocktail napkin of what ever design you choose. Plus some cling wrap, white cardstock and an iron.

Separate the white backing from the napkin.

potw13017-lu2

Then cut off a bit of cling wrap the size of your cardstock and sandwich them all together.

potw13017-lu3

Using a dry iron, fuse everything together. Then create your project.

I did the reverse stamping technique on this so that I could stack the mugs. The top one is the way the original stamp looks. They are colored with Copic markers. I cut the top one out and popped it up using foam tape. Brown ribbon and cardstock used to layer and add interest to the final project.

You can find the 9303-P, Thanks a latte’ coffee mug and sentiment here.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you are all having a great week so far. I have been busy trying to get ready for our first three shows of the year. Over the next four weeks we’ll be taking our rubber on the road and traveling to TX, FL and SC. Today is day two of our long road trip from Maine to Texas. If you are anywhere near the Plano area we hope that you will come see us at the StampScrapArtTour show this weekend.

But today here at “The House” it’s time to kick off a new challenge. For another little change of pace we’ve now made our Anything Goes Challenges a regular part of our monthly rotation. So for this week’s challenge the sky is the limit. Feel free to submit any style of card or stamped creation that you wish.

Here are the wonderful creations the RI Rock Stars came up with to inspire you and get us started.

Today is my day to post a Project of the Week here at The House That Stamps Built blog. Pierced dies are really popular right now and I’d love to have them ALL!! But, if you’re like me and can’t spend all that money, I’m going to show you how you can get the look with dies you already own.

What you will need:
Dies (they need to be open on the inside like the ones I used from Spellbinders)
A piercing tool (I used my multi tool from Spellbinders, but I also have a regular piercing tool. You could probably also use a straight pin.)
Some kind of mat to protect your work surface
Stamps (I used Repeat Impressions515-L, Strawberries” and “8602-E, Smile“)

Cut out your card stock with the die and leave it IN the die. Using the piercing tool, pierce the card stock right along the edge of the die.

potw12317-hm2

Continue piercing right along the inside edge of the die. I space mine out about 1/8 inch, but you could do it a little farther apart if you’d like. I don’t measure, just eyeball it; no one will be able to tell if it’s not exactly even.

Here’s what it looks like once I pierced all the way around and removed the die:

A perfectly pierced die cut circle! You can do this with any shaped die as long as it is open in the middle. I hope you will give it a try. Here’s my finished card:
