Oh my goodness… how did September go by so quickly?! The weather here in Maine for the past couple of weeks has been unusually warm so it’s especially hard to believe that it’s almost October already. So before Mother Nature comes to her senses and the temperatures start to dip, I’ve been trying to take as many meals as I can outdoors. We don’t get too many months where you can do that here so it’s a real treat. Like our stamp says… Simple pleasures are the best…  :)

Today here at “The House” it’s time to kick off a new challenge. We have one of our fun and super easy Anything Goes Challenges. So for this week’s challenge the sky is the limit. Feel free to submit any style of card or stamped creation that you wish.

Here are all the wonderful creations the RI Rock Stars came up with to inspire you and get us started.

Repeat Impressions

Good morning!
I’m the Monday morning hostess today here at The House That Stamps Built. It’s my turn to share a Project of the Week with all of you.  Today, I chose to share a tutorial for an easy treat holder for my tutorial.

potw92517-pg1

For this tutorial, I’m using these Repeat Impressions stamps:

Cut a strip of cardstock to 1 15/16″ x 10″.

potw92517-pg2

Score at 4″, 6″, 7″, and 9″
Burnish your score lines. Now your strip looks like this.

potw92517-pg3

Before I went any further, I took a decorative punch to the top of my strip. This step is optional.
Add Scor-Tape, or adhesive of choice to the small tab, but do not remove the liner yet!

potw92517-pg4

Punch a hole between the two score lines opposite the top of your strip.
I used a 1 1/4″ punch for this project.

potw92517-pg5

Begin decorating your strip.  I stamped on what will be the ‘front’ side of my treat holder.

potw92517-pg6

If you wish to decorate the ‘holder’, you will need to flip your strip over, and stamp on the opposite side.  Be sure that you are stamping on the side with the adhesive, with that end at the top.

If you look closely, you can see where the penguin was stamped – the Copics bled through a bit.

potw92517-pg7

Now, just remove the adhesive liner, and attach the flap to the front of your treat holder.
All that’s left to do is add candy and decorate!

potw92517-pg8

Here is the finished product.
You can change the dimensions of this holder, and add a votive candle, if you’d like!

potw92517-pg9

Here is your finished treat box – coolest ‘easy box’ ever, right?

We hope that you will give this a try!

Come back and let us know if you do – we’d love to see your finished projects!!!

Thanks for stopping by,
Patti J.

Good morning, everyone! Are you making time for some crafty fun this week? If you need some stamping inspiration then why not play along with our challenges. You don’t even have to use our stamps to be included and you may even win one of our gift certificates. :)

Today here at “The House” it’s time to introduce a new Inspiration Palette Challenge. This challenge is a fun cross between our previous Photo Inspiration Challenges and our Color Challenges. Below I have posted a photograph with a corresponding color palette so that you can choose to find your inspiration in whichever suits you best… or both!

And now it’s your turn! The rules are really simple… Remember, your creation doesn’t have to be made with Repeat Impressions stamps, but if you would like to include our designs we would really love to see them! 😀 Plus you will get an additional entry in our random.org drawing for using our stamps in your submissions! Simply create something using the palette above as your inspiration, upload your card to your blog or Splitcoast gallery, then link it here to this post by clicking on the little blue button below.

Don’t forget… we’ve extended our submission dates for challenges this month so you have plenty of extra time to play along. We will be accepting submissions to this Inspiration Palette Challenge ~ S2017 until 5pm EST on Tuesday, October 3rd. All participants will be automatically entered into our random drawing. Then on September 27th we’ll be kicking off the next challenge in our monthly rotation… a super fun Anything Goes Challenge! We’ll announce our September challenges winner here on the first Wednesday of next month. One lucky person will win a $25 Repeat Impressions Gift Certificate!

So what are you waiting for?! Why not play along with us and start stamping up a card now. We can’t wait to see your creations! When you are ready to share your card, please add the direct link to your entry using the link button below. And please be sure to provide a link back here and reference Repeat Impressions Inspiration Palette Challenge ~ S2017 in your blog or gallery posting.

Remember… Take part in one weekly challenge or all of them. The more you play along, the more chances you have to win! Each submission enters you in the drawing for our gift certificate. And you don’t always have to use our stamps in your creations, but we will reward you if you do. Each submission using a Repeat Impressions stamp will earn you an additional entry in the drawing!

And just a friendly reminder… as I explained last week, this month the deadline for submissions for ALL our challenges will be October 3rd. So for example… with today’s Inspiration Palette Challenge you’ll have the rest of month to create and upload your card. Then when we introduce our next new challenge next week you’ll have one week to submit for that one. So with a little less of a time crunch we hope you’ll find that you have more opportunity to play along with more of our challenges.

Thank you so much for visiting here with us today. We hope you’ve found lots to inspire you and look forward to seeing your challenge creation linked here soon. And please be sure to drop by again on Monday when RI Rock Star, Patti J. Gilliam will be hosting and sharing her Project of the Week with us.

Until the next time… happy stamping!

Repeat Impressions

Sep 182017

Hi everyone. It’s my turn to host the Project of the Week here at the House That Stamps Built. I’ve chosen to do an inlaid sentiment, so grab your supplies, and follow along.

potw91817-lu1

I used the new Distress Oxide inks, Versamark ink, the Solid flower stamp from Repeat Impressions #10301-H and the Happy Birthday Day die.

potw91817-lu2

I stamped the flower randomly over the card front with Versamark, then heat embossed it using clear embossing powder. Using the Oxide inks, I blended out my color combo. Then I cut the sentiment out and preserved all the bits and pieces.

Cut out another sentiment using a coordinating color of cardstock and again, preserve all the bits and pieces.

potw91817-lu3

Lay your piece onto a card base and add some tape or glue and then reinsert all the letters and pieces.

This is what it looks like finished and you can get two cards out of this technique if you plan right.

potw91817-lu4

potw91817-lu5

Hope this inspires you dig through your dies and supplies to make a few cards.
