We have one more bit of news to share with you. Today we are bidding a fond farewell to RI Rock Star, Patti J. Gilliam. Patti J. has been on our design team for several years… not once, but twice! How fortunate are we?! So with a little luck, maybe she’ll decide to come back and join us again someday in the future. We sure are going to miss this super sweet lady and her wonderful RI creations! Wishing you all the best, Patti!!

Thanks so much for spending time with us today. We hope you’ve found lots to inspire you and look forward to seeing your challenge creation linked here soon. And please be sure to stop by again on Monday when RI Rock Star, Cheri Weston will be sharing her Project of the Week with us.

This week it is my turn here at The House That Stamps Built to do the Project of the Week. Since I am in the swing of Christmas I decided to go with a Christmas card and a technique I choose to call “Use Your Dies”. Below you will see a picture of my supplies.

potw112717-sh1

I went through my Christmas dies (the only ones I really have any organizational skills at all), and chose an ornament die from a set of 4 unbranded dies. I went with the one that would fit my image.

potw112717-sh2

I place the die where I wanted my focal image to go and used some washi tape to secure it.

potw112717-sh3

I kept both the negative and positive images as you will see in a bit what I did with the other image.

potw112717-sh4

Using my sponge daubers I started with my darkest shade of blue ink, just going around the outer edge of the die cut, I then used the medium shade of blue and sponged in a bit farther and finally the lightest shade of blue went as far into the center as I wanted to shade.

potw112717-sh5

Using the Angel 905-L and Heaven & Earth 6523-D, I stamped the focal image inside the shaded ornament in my dark blue ink as well as the sentiment Heaven & Earth partial in/partial out the shaded ornament.

potw112717-sh6

I colored the trim on her dress in blue spectrum glittermarker, and her wings in a clear Wink of Stella. I added some sequin trim and a twine bow at the top.

potw112717-sh7

I used the positive image of the ornament for the inside of my card – shading it again with the three shades of blue and stamping the sentiment Let Heaven 413-H inside. I really like the way this turned out – clean and simple one layer card. I am going to go through my dies and see what else I can use with this same technique. Give it a try.

Good morning!

I’m the Monday morning hostess at The House That Stamps Built. It’s my turn to share a ‘Project of the Week‘ with all of you. Today, I chose to share a tutorial for the easiest EVER treat box.

For this tutorial, I’m using this Repeat Impressions stamp:

2107 H Noel

Cut a piece of card stock to 6.5″ x 6.5″.
Score at 2″ on each side.

potw112017-pg1

This is what your ‘box’ will look like:

potw112017-pg2

Cut off the 4 corners and burnish your score lines nice and crisp.

potw112017-pg3

Take a small hole punch and punch each side of each flap.
Now it looks like this.

potw112017-pg4

Burnish your fold lines one more time for grins…

potw112017-pg5

Take some Baker’s Twine or gold cording, and tie up your corners.

potw112017-pg6

Decorate as desired.

potw112017-pg7

Fill boxes with something delightful!
That’s it – you’re done!

potw112017-pg8

Truly the easiest box ever, right?

On the dotted box, there were no added panels, green card stock was used for matting, and Baker’s Twine was used for the ties.

On the striped box, I cut and adhered four panels that were 2.25″ x 1.75″, gold metallic card stock was used for matting, and Gold cording for the ties.

We hope that you will give this a try!
Come back and let us know if you do – we’d love to see your finished projects!!!

Thanks for stopping by,
Patti J.
