Hello… Cheri here for The House That Stamps Built with a new Project of the Week for you. I’m calling it faux silk background, but it may have another name somewhere else.

This is what it looks like.

Stamps used are 10301-H “Patti’s Flower Solid, 10310-H “Mum Solid”, 10308-H “Kathy’s Flower Solid”, 10306-E “Daisy Solid Sm.”, 10311-C “Leaf Solid Sm.”, 10318-D “Leaf Solid Lg.”, 10204-D “Leaf Cluster Solid”, 9009-F “Butterfly Sm.” and 1105-E “Thinking of You”.

Here are the supplies you’ll need:

potw42417-cw2

A piece of white card stock cut a little smaller than your tissue paper piece. Tissue paper, dye inks of your choice, glue. You can use a glue stick, I used ATG double sided tape.

Begin by inking your stamp(s) with your choice of ink and stamp your tissue paper in the area or areas where you’d like your image or images to appear.

potw42417-cw3

Once you have the tissue paper piece to your liking you now must do the hard part….wait for it to dry completely. You can hit it with a heat gun if you can’t wait, but it’s very, very important that the ink is completely dry.

When the tissue is dry, roll it into a ball then unroll it carefully. Cover your white card stock with glue completely, and gently lay your tissue piece over it carefully tapping it to the card stock piece to adhere.

Here’s a close look at what it should look like.

Trim the edges and use it on your card base as desired.

I hope you like this and give it a try, it makes a unique and lovely background.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a super creative week!

Good morning, crafty friends! I hope you are all having a good week. My husband was finally released from the hospital the end of last week and we are slowly trying to get back to work here. Unfortunately, his Afib is silent and it’s also been a real challenge to control so far. For the time being Bill’s cardiologist is trying to manage it with medications, but among other things, that seems to make him tire very easily. So we really appreciate your patience as orders are not getting out as quickly as they usually would. Thank you so much for your understanding!

But here at “The House” it’s business as usual as the Rock Stars have been busy stamping up some fabulous cards to share with you. Today it’s time to introduce a new Inspiration Palette Challenge. This challenge is a fun cross between our previous Photo Inspiration Challenges and our Color Challenges. Below I have posted a photograph with a corresponding color palette so that you can choose to find your inspiration in whichever suits you best… or both!

WOW… Easter was yesterday and I hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful day with family, friends, church services or however you celebrate Easter.

For my POTW (Project of the Week) I choose to do a very simple, easy, and FUN project that I call embedded faux chip board. I used Repeat Impressions stamps listed below:

10203-D Leaf Cluster Outline
10205-E Flower Cluster Outline
10206-E Flower Cluster Detail
10207-E Flower Cluster Solid

For my Supplies I used a word die, white cardstock cut at 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2, the above listed stamps, Tombow multipurpose liquid glue, a piece of Kraft cardstock, sequins, and inks of your choice.

potw41717-sh1

Die Cut your word out of the upper center of the white cardstock as well as 5 individual die cuts out of the Kraft cardstock.

potw41717-sh2

potw41717-sh3

potw41717-sh4

Next step is to glue all 5 DREAM die cuts together making sure they line up, using liquid glue of your choice.

potw41717-sh5

I then began stamping my images of the flower clusters and leaves randomly on the white cardstock. I used three different colors of purples.

potw41717-sh6

Then add liquid glue to the back of your stack of 5 dreams glued together and with the card front facing up place the stack of die cuts through the negative space on the white cardstock. It may be just a bit snug but it will slip right into the negative space. Looks like chipboard without the weight.

potw41717-sh7

I thought it needed some bling so I choose to add some random sequins.

Finished Card:

Enjoy and find different dies and Repeat Impressions images that will work beautifully together.

Happy Wednesday, crafty peeps! Well the past week has been more challenging than usual around here. Last Thursday my husband went to see the doctor for shortness of breath and a long lingering cough. We thought maybe he had bronchitis or pneumonia. Boy were we surprised when they put him in an ambulance and sent him to the hospital with a really bad case of Afib. :(

So to say that I have been a bit preoccupied for the past week is an understatement. My apologies if you have placed an order or emailed me and I have not yet responded. We’re hoping Bill will be released from the cardiac unit tomorrow. And with a little luck we might get Repeat Impressions back up to speed by next week. Thank you so much for your patience in the meantime!

But today here at The House it’s time to kick off a new Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge. I have created the Tic-Tac-Toe style board below using various stamping themes, elements, and embellishments. Then, similar to the game, you will create something based on picking any row of 3… either vertically, horizontally or diagonally. Fun, right?! And with so many great variables you can’t help but play along!

Check out all this wonderful inspiration the RI Rock Stars have created for you! Such a fun variety of styles and images!!
