Woohoo! I don’t usually post on Fridays but today we have something to celebrate! Starting next week we have three new Rock Stars joining us. I think that is newsworthy of a special post don’t you?! Please join us in welcoming Joyce Morien, Geri Utterback, and Christy Schumacher to the Repeat Impressions design team. I asked each of these ladies to give us a little introduction and this is what they had to say…

“My husband and I just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary.  We have a 21 year old son who will be going back to college very soon (bummer).  I grew up and have always lived in central WI.  I have always, always always done crafts of some sort.  I don’t remember a time when I didn’t – embroidery, crochet, needle point, cross stitch, scrapbooking and I’ve put pretty much all of that behind me to make cards and 3-D paper projects.  On a rare occasion I do some crocheting for a change of pace.  My ultimate goal is to be able to have a career doing my paper crafts.” ~ Joyce

“Hi! I’m so thrilled to be joining Repeat Impressions and their spectacular rock star team! I live up in the mountains of northern California. I’m a retired hairdresser. I have a great husband and two wonderful grown daughters and two grandkids that I’m very proud of. I started making cards in 2009 after being introduced to it by my daughters. I have fallen in love with this art.   My blog is geri’s cards and I’m known on Splitcoaststamper’s as redwasher1. I’m a rock star YAH!!!!” ~ Geri

“My name is Christy Schumacher, I am 40 years old, mom of two college students and I couldn’t be prouder.  I have been creating cards/scrapbooks/altered art for around 5 years now, it is my passion which I can indulge in calorie free. :) I do not have a name for my “style” of crafting because I am ever changing & evolving in it; this I feel is what keeps my ideas fresh & unique.  I am also a Certified Scrapbook & Paper-ED Instructor for Michaels as well as the Paper Crafting Instructor for The Middletown Arts Center.  My favorite crafting items that I use almost all the time are my paper trimmer, my Scor-Pal, Cricut & my ATG.” ~ Christy

I’m sure you’ll agree… I can hardly wait to see all the great things these talented ladies will be creating with Repeat Impressions stamps! :)

Have a great weekend everyone! We’ll be back again on Monday to kick off a new Stamp of the Week. Hope to see you here!

After much deliberation we have finally selected a new Rock Star for our Design Team! But before we make the introduction, we first want to extend a big thank you to all those who applied. We saw some wonderful card samples in our in box… it wasn’t easy narrowing them down to just one!!

And now please join us in welcoming our newest Rock Star, Karen Hasheck.

I asked Karen to tell us a little about herself and this is what she had to say…

“I have been stamping and creating cards for a little over 10 years now and I can’t believe the fun I have had and the great friends I have made since discovering this awesome hobby. I am totally addicted and each day I enjoy it more. So many new ideas, stamps and products to try and never enough time!

I have been honored to have many cards published in stamping magazines, but blogging is a new adventure for me. I recently quit a high stress full time job and am currently staying at home and loving all the time I have for stamping and scrapping!

I have a loving husband who is enjoying retirement and is somewhat tolerant of my addiction; two adult children I am very proud of who also live in the Midwest with their better halves; and one adorable grandson who is the light of my life! He is the only reason I got into scrapbooking and I will share some pages from time to time.”

A funny twist… As it turns out, when I was contacting Karen about joining the Design Team she was preparing to upload a card to our blog for our current Sketch Challenge. Imagine her surprise when I told her that she had lost the opportunity to win our Gift Certificate, but had won a Rock Star position instead! 😀

Some of Karen’s work may be familiar to you as she has been participating quite regularly in many of our challenges. She was also a recent winner and selected a sheet of our humorous verses from our Funny Bones collection as her prize. Shown below is a sampling of how she put some of them to good use.

Easter Card by Sandy HulsartThere will be no Easter eggs to hunt for here at The House That Stamps Built this weekend. The only eggs in my immediate future will be served up scrambled and topped with a little of my favorite habanero lime salsa!

Nope, instead I’ll be hunting for something far more exciting than dyed eggs… It’s time to revisit my email inbox and search through our Design Team Call submissions. And since I’ve seen quite a lot of creativity rolling in lately, I’m thinking it’s got to be lots easier to hide or hunt for eggs than trying to choose new DT members. I think I’d rather trade jobs with the Easter Bunny!

The adorable Easter card shown here was created for us by Sandy Hulsart, one of our past DT members. Sandy used our stamps #1310-G Just Hatched, #1305-G Eggs-tra Special and #4507-J Easter Balloons. You can see more of the wonderful cards Sandy has created for us by visiting her Repeat Impressions gallery page and also by checking out her blog.

Hope you’re having a fabulous holiday weekend and thanks for stopping by!
