Good morning, crafty friends! I hope you are having a great autumn so far. What a wonderful time of year for those of us who love all things pumpkin! This past weekend I attended our town’s annual Pumpkin Festival where they displayed and lit up over 1000 carved pumpkins. Very impressive! And don’t even get me started on the pumpkin goodies. Ha!! Over the last few days I had my first ever Pumpkin Pie Blizzard at DQ… yummo!! And I also rediscovered the deliciousness of pumpkin hummus. Mmmm… Good thing I like taking long walks in the fall too! 😉

And autumn is such a fun time for stamping and other crafty pursuits also, don’t you think? I love seeing all the Halloween and holiday card creations that have started popping up everywhere. And we have plenty of that type of inspiration for you here today as we kick off a new challenge. Today we have one of our fun and super easy Anything Goes Challenges. So for this week’s challenge the sky is the limit. Feel free to submit any style of card or stamped creation that you wish.

Here are all the fantastic creations the RI Rock Stars came up with to inspire you and get us started.

Score 1 1/4″ from the edge of your card and fold back from the edge as shown above.

Glue matching pattern paper on the right and left sides as shown, coordinating paper in the center. Color and attach design of your choice. I used Repeat Impressions’ 514-I Prize Pumpkin colored with Copic markers.

Good morning, everyone! Do you need some stamping inspiration? If so, I think we might be able to help you out with that. Today here at “The House” it’s time to introduce a new Inspiration Palette Challenge. This challenge is a fun cross between our previous Photo Inspiration Challenges and our Color Challenges. Below I have posted a photograph with a corresponding color palette so that you can choose to find your inspiration in whichever suits you best… or both!

Hi everyone, Deonna here with my Project of the Week and I’m going to show you how to shadow ink. I kinda think of it as reverse coloring.

potw101617-db25

Supplies:
Vellum - Cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″- Folded in half for a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card
White Cardstock - Cut the same as the vellum above
Stamps by Repeat Impressions - 908-K Cornucopia, 514-I Prize Pumpkin, 3309-K Scarecrow & Friend and 4313-K Sunflower
Staz-on ink in black
Sponge dauber - mine is Tim Holtz
Ink pads - Distress ink in Frayed Burlap, Gathered Twigs, Cloudy Sky, Salty Ocean

1. Take your vellum and stamp your images all over the desired area. Stamp the cornucopia and then stamp a mask and cut it out. Mask cornucopia and then stamp pumpkin along with a mask and cut it out, repeat with scarecrow and sunflowers.

2. Photocopy the vellum image above onto a piece of printer paper with masking paper on top. Fussy cut the image out with scissors.

3. After cutting out the image, place behind the vellum image aligned directly under the vellum image. Place the mask onto the white cardstock base. It should just stick to the cardstock underneath.

4. Taking your sponge dauber and Ranger ink, sponge the ink around the mask on the white cardstock. I used blue for the sky and green for the bottom. Remove the mask on the white cardstock.

5. Cut down your vellum to the card size and attach the vellum image directly over the cardstock using double-sided tape or vellum tape at the top and bottom to hold the vellum to the card.

6. Add a sentiment to the vellum using Staz-on ink, if desired and enjoy. You are now finished.
