Happy Hump Day, crafty friends! I hope your week is going well so far. I just got back from doing the Adventures In Stamping show in Akron, OH so I am still a little tired and busy trying to catch up on things. But I do want to take a moment to thank everyone who came out to support us at the show. It’s always great to see so many familiar faces year after year. Your patronage and friendship is greatly appreciated!

It’s challenge day here again at The House and I’ve got a new sketch to share with you. So if you are planning to get inky this week, then we’ve got just the thing to help get you started. Then on Wednesday, May 4th we’ll be kicking off a new challenge and announcing our winner for April. One lucky person will win a $25 Repeat Impressions Gift Certificate!

Welcome Our New Rock Star!

Good morning! Today I have an extra special post announcement to share with you… We have a new Rock Star in our midst! Please help us in welcoming Laurie Unger to the Repeat Impressions design team.

I asked Laurie to tell us a little about herself and this is what she had to say…


Laurie Unger

“I’m a business consultant by day and a stamper by night. I’ve been stamping since 2005, which evolved from scrap booking. I am now solely a cardmaker and sometimes dabble in multi-media. This year my husband and I will celebrate 30 wonderful years together and we have two furry four legged kids. In our spare time we love to travel, specifically in our RV. You can generally find us out walking the dogs (or them walking us) on the many hiking trails we encounter on our travels.”

Repeat Impressions

Project of the Week ~ Easy Holiday Card

Hi, it’s Heather to share my Project of the Week with you. I’m going to show you how to make this card with these two Repeat Impressions stamps and not a whole lot else:

You will need:

-Repeat Impressions’ stamps 2012-H, Pointsettia and 2107-H, NOEL
-a card stock base (mine is white A2 sized)
-a straight edge
-washi tape
-markers (I used a black sharpie to draw the lines and a red sharpie to color the flowers, a gray marker for shading and a gold paint pen for the centers)
-ink (I used versamark and gold embossing powder, but you could just use black or a colored ink if you wanted it to be even easier-I also needed a heat tool for the embossing

I used my straight edge to draw two parallel lines down the length of my paper with the black marker.

I adhered a strip of washi tape to each of the lines to create a mask. Then I stamped my poinsettia image several times within the “frame”.

I removed the tape and colored the images.

Then I stamped and embossed the sentiment and added gold paint pen to the center of the flowers (I did this after stamping my sentiment so I wouldn’t smear any of the gold paint.) I added two YNS red gumdrops and the card is finished!
