Today is my day to share a Pick of the Week here at The House That Stamps Built. In January, I shared my top feminine picks from 2018 and today, I am going to show my top 5 (okay 6!) masculine picks from 2018. Masculine cards seem to be more difficult for a lot of us, so hopefully, this post will give you some great ideas.

This card uses 5814-N “Metro Map” and 1113-D “Birthday“

I create this card with 3929-E “Class of…” and 4521-H “Grad’s Cap and Diploma“

This card is super fun with 2516-G “The cat’s out…” and 1611-K “Curiosity Cat“

This card uses 4009-G “In all things“, 9714-I “Betta Fish“, and 9718-G “Plant“

I just love this one using 1138-E “Father’s Day” and 2408-N “Large Palm Trees“

And because I (surprisingly) had a really hard time just choosing 5 masculine cards, here is a bonus

using 3003-K “Cape Hatteras Light” and 1820-F “Belated Birthday“

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope this gave you some ideas for creating those hard to make masculine cards.

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Today we have a fun Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge to help jumpstart your next stamping project. I have created the Tic-Tac-Toe style board below using various stamping themes, elements, and embellishments. Then, similar to the game, you will create something based on picking any row of 3… either vertically, horizontally or diagonally. And with so many great variables you’re sure to be inspired… so come play along!

Check out all the wonderful cards the RI Rock Stars have created to inspire you this week.

Hello friends, Esther here with this week’s Pick of the Week stamps.
Do you ever struggle with using small stamps on your cards? I do!
Today I’m sharing a quick and easy card showcasing a small baby owl stamp, and a fun way to create a matching background for your main image.
Let’s get started….

Being by stamping the 2613-H, Baby Owl stamp in a random pattern, on kraft card stock using Walnut Stain Distress Oxide (Ranger).
For a bit of added depth, highlight portions of your owl using the Versamarker Pen.
Sponge around the edges of your panel with walnut stain ink, and add a few spatters using diluted Black Soot Distress Oxide (Ranger).

Now stamp your 2613-H, Baby Owl on white card stock (same ink) and cut out using the Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders).
While the paper is still in your die cut, ink around the edges with a sponge dauber.
Layer your die cut circle on kraft and black card stock cut with the Scallop Circle & Large Scallop Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders).
Tie a double piece of baker’s twine around your card front and add some black sequins.
Affix your owl to the card front using Scotch Foam Mounting Tape, and add two wiggly eyes just for fun!
Stamp your sentiment from plate Plate 9900 in Tuxedo Black Ink (Memento), and layer your panel on black card stock before adhering to your white card front.

Happy Wednesday, stamping friends! Despite the 8″ of new snow we got earlier this week, the old calendar on the wall says Spring is in the air this month. Woohoo! This weekend, here in the northeast we’ll be turning our clocks ahead. Both a blessing and a curse. I’m not too fond of losing an hour out of my day, but the fact that it will be daylight out much later is always a welcomed change. Now if someone could only explain Daylight Savings Time to my cat’s internal body clock. lol!!

With the start of a new month, it’s time to start a new round of challenges. As usual we’re kicking things off with one of our Designer’s Choice Challenges. This month RI Rock Star, Joy Hadden is hosting and has chosen the theme Easter or Spring. Simple enough, right? We hope you will play along!

Here’s the sweet Easter card that Joy created to get everyone started.

So a few days ago Joy shared her creation with her fellow Rock Stars and asked them all to stamp up something with an Easter or Spring theme. Check out all the awesome creations they came up with to inspire you this week!
