Happy Monday, everyone! Today is my turn to share a Pick of the Week with you. I must confess, since quitting the stamp show circuit 2 years ago I’ve gotten quite rusty in actually putting my own stamps to good use and have become a total procrastinator when it comes to physically stamping. Ha! So as usual, even though it had been on my “To Do” list for weeks, I was in a panic over the weekend as what to share with you. But something that seems to help me get my creative juices flowing again is too look back at past blog posts here and all the fabulous RI Rock Star creations. It worked. I saw something that sparked my fancy and gave me a few ideas of something I’d like to try.
So yesterday I finally started digging out my supplies with great intentions of creating something hopefully marvelous with some of my floral stamps and a few punches. And wouldn’t you know it, but the card I set out to create never even got started. Nope… while pulling stamps to use I spied my sweet Clover Bunny stamp and decided I just “needed” to use him instead. He’s just too cute!! And after all… tis the season for bunnies, flowers, easter and such. So I had to put all my intended supplies away and start over. Geez! Some days creativity just has a mind of it’s own, right?!
Anyway, back to the drawing board I went and after a bit of play time I came up with this…
Like most of my creations, it’s basically a simple card, but I tried to add a few touches to fancy it up a bit.
The supplies I used are as follows:
Repeat Impressions stamps… 702-K Clover Bunny, 1302-F Some Bunny and 10504-Q Wavy Oval Frame Lg
8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ lime green card stock, plus a scrap piece of the same
4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ white card stock
4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ purple mulberry paper
Momento Tuxedo Black ink
Markers
Water brush
Scoring board or tool
Scissors
Piercing Tool and mat
Embroidery floss and needle
3M Double-sided tape
Dimensional tape
I decided to frame the bunny with my large Wavy Oval Frame stamp. I fussy cut the frame after stamping and coloring the bunny. The frame already has a dot pattern around the border, but I thought why not kick it up a notch by piercing all the dots and adding some color with real stitching. I found that embroidery floss worked perfectly for my little holes.
Then to add more texture and color I dug out some old mulberry paper from eons ago that I never remember to use. And I just happened to have a lovely purple piece already cut that seemed perfect for this stamp image. I used a water brush to dampen the edges and then tore the edges away for a nice wispy look.
I used double-sided tape to affix the mulberry paper to my card base. And I used dimensional tape to attach my oval to the mulberry paper. Then I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of matching green card stock, trimmed it to size and affixed that with a double stack of dimensional tape.
I hope you enjoyed my creation and might be inspired to do a little piercing and stitching yourself. Dust off that mulberry paper and use it to fancy up your next card project too! And remember, if you find this sweet bunny as irresistible as I do, the Pick of the Week stamps used here are always available to you at a discount, but only for the week they are posted.
Thanks so much for stopping by and we hope you’ll join us for our next challenge starting on Wednesday.
Until then, happy stamping… always!
Wendy

Oh Wendy…..I LOVE your idea for stitching around that oval frame!! It adds the sweetest touch to your already adorable card! Simply adorable!
Love your bunny - and all the little extras - the embroidery floss on the oval, and then you had me at Mulberry paper. I used to use mulberry paper on everything. Still have a ton of it and again never think to get it out. Love your POTW
This is adorable!!! I see some fabulous mulberry paper, don’t the wispy edges finish it off perfectly? And I LOVE the stitching on the frame image; what a great idea!! I’ll definitely be filing that away for future use. (And I already have this sweet bunny, he really is adorable!)
I’m dusting off the mulberry paper….this is fantastic, Wendy. So much texture and dimension. To say nothing of the incredible creativity. So you had a bit of a panic moment, did you? (if I had a nickel….) But look what happened!!! Awesome!!!
Such a beauty, so cute and so many lovely touches, I have to pull my mulberry paper out and oh the stitching is fabulous, I’ve used ribbon but like the stitching so much better! Thanks for the inspiration!
