Hi, Donna here with my Pick of the Week for Repeat Impressions. I’ve been wanting to try the hot new technique I’ve seen in video after video all over YouTube, so here is a tutorial on my first attempt at string art.

First gather your minimal supplies that should be in your craft room already: re-inker, string about 9″-12″, a container to ink your string in, 2 pieces of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card stock, rubber stamp saying of your choice. And rubber gloves as I learned by experience.

Ink up your string leaving about 2″-3″ on each end un-inked. Do not be fooled into thinking this will keep you un-inked.

Lay your string in a circular design with one end at the top of your card stock, see positioning in the next picture.

Place the other piece of card stock on top (note positioning of the string in this photo), press the top sheet of card stock down and quickly pull the bottom string out.

You will get two mirror image designs looking similar or not to this, depending on your curls.

Embellish as desired. Some people add leaves to make the image look more like a flower. I used Repeat Impressions: 8611-E, Thinking and 9717-C, Happy Hello.

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial and will give it a try.
